What type of therapy do you provide?

We currently offer Individual, Couples, Family, and Children. We offer play therapy, sand tray therapy, and talk therapy.

What if I call after office hours?

If it is after hours, you may leave a confidential voicemail at 417-988-6622 and your call will be returned as soon as possible; however it may take 24-48 hours for non-urgent matters.

If I go to Stronger Than Yesterday Counseling for help, does it mean that there is something wrong with me?

Absolutely not! Individuals who use STY Counseling enhance their personal growth and adjustment to the world around them. Children, families, and individuals face normal developmental and environmental concerns throughout life which may cause feelings of anxiety, anger, decreased self-esteem, depression, or loneliness. STY Counseling professionals are here to help explore alternative coping strategies and ways of dealing with yourself and your environment.


What can I expect at my first visit to Stronger Than Yesterday?

There is no need to arrive early to the first session if you are able to print and complete forms located under the forms tab on our website. This will help speed up the first visit. The therapist will meet with you for approximately 60 minutes. At this first session you will be asked questions to clarify your current situation and past history. The therapist will provide an overview of services offered and frequency of visits. You will also schedule the next session.
